Statement of Work
Ref: 2026-001 • Standard Business Template
Payment Schedule
The client agrees to make payments according to the following structured milestones. All work commences only after the initial non-refundable deposit is received and confirmed via the provided payment link.
- Deposit: 40% due upon signing to secure project placement and initiate design discovery.
- Milestone 1: 30% due upon client approval of Figma design prototypes prior to Webflow development.
- Final Payment: 30% due prior to custom domain connection, staging push to live, or Webflow workspace transfer.
Deliverables
Deliverables are strictly limited to the agreed Webflow build scope outlined in the initial proposal. Any assets outside this list require a formal change request.
- Figma visual designs and responsive desktop/mobile wireframes.
- Webflow CMS collection structure, custom fields, and dynamic page templates.
- Custom Webflow animations, page transitions, and interactive components.
- Basic SEO setup, Open Graph images, SSL configuration, and custom 404 page.
Approval Checkpoints
To keep the Webflow build moving on schedule, written approval records are required at designated checkpoints before proceeding to subsequent technical stages.
- Checkpoint 1: Design Sign-off: Formal written approval of Figma layouts before Webflow build starts.
- Checkpoint 2: Staging Sign-off: Approval of responsiveness and functionality on the Webflow staging URL (.webflow.io).
Late Payment
Invoices are payable upon receipt or according to agreed terms. Failure to remit payment within 5 business days of a milestone invoice will result in an immediate pause on all Webflow development work.
Launch Conditions
Final project transfer or live domain launch requires strict compliance with payment requirements. The Webflow site will remain hosted on the designer's account until all funds clear.
- Custom domain DNS connection will not be executed without full payment settlement.
- Webflow project workspace transfers will occur only after 100% of project fees are cleared.
Change Requests
Any revisions requested after a milestone approval checkpoint (e.g., redesigning layout after Figma sign-off) will be billed at $125/hour or quoted as a separate add-on scope under a new payment link.
Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with 7 days written notice. In the event of termination, the designer retains all upfront deposits and completed stage payments. All unreleased Webflow project transfers and source code rights remain with the designer until settled.
Unpaid Webflow Project Ownership Transfer
Clients frequently request Webflow workspace transfers or DNS custom domain routing before full payment, stripping your leverage once the site is live.
Staging Build Scope Creep Without Sign-Offs
Building Webflow interactions and CMS structures before getting formal design approvals leads to costly, unpaid re-development cycles.
Indefinite Client Delays Dragging Out Cash Flow
Missing content or delayed feedback from clients stalls progress payments, trapping the designer in an incomplete build with uncompensated locked hours.
What is a Webflow Designer Payment Schedule Agreement?
A Webflow designer payment schedule agreement protects your cash flow by tying work stages to non-refundable deposits, milestone payments, and written approval checkpoints. It ensures final payment is secured before site transfer or domain launch, preventing unpaid code handovers and scope creep through structured approval records and clear payment links.
Built from real freelance projects
This template is based on real-world scenarios across freelance projects where unclear scope, missing payment terms, and revision creep led to lost revenue. It is designed to protect your time, define expectations, and ensure you get paid.
Why Webflow Designers need a clear payment schedule agreement
Webflow design projects carry distinct execution risks that generic freelance contracts fail to address. Because Webflow builds involve custom CMS architecture, responsive interactions, third-party integrations, and site ownership transfers, delivering work without a strict payment schedule leaves freelancers vulnerable to delayed client feedback and unpaid development hours. Clients often push to launch custom domains or demand workspace transfers before final settlement, leaving designers without leverage once the site is live. A dedicated Webflow payment schedule agreement enforces non-refundable deposits before kicking off design work, mandates written approval checkpoints at key phases—such as Figma wireframe sign-off and Webflow staging reviews—and gates production domain launch behind final payment. MicroFreelanceHub helps Webflow designers tie contract agreements directly to payment links and client approvals in a unified workflow, eliminating payment friction, stopping scope creep, and ensuring you retain asset control until every milestone is fully cleared.
Real-world scenario
A Webflow designer agreed to build a 10-page custom e-commerce site for a $6,000 flat fee without a structured payment schedule. After paying a $1,000 deposit, the client repeatedly delayed content delivery and requested major layout revisions after the Webflow staging build was already completed. Desperate to complete the project, the designer pushed the site live to the client's custom domain before receiving final payment. Once the domain pointed live and ownership transferred, the client stopped answering emails, leaving $5,000 unpaid despite months of hard work. By using MicroFreelanceHub’s Webflow payment schedule template, the designer could have required a 50% upfront deposit, a 25% progress payment upon Figma sign-off, and gated custom domain connection behind the final 25% payment link. Built-in approval records and payment-gated launches prevent clients from taking possession of custom Webflow sites without settling all outstanding milestone invoices.

Best practices for Webflow Designers
Gate Staging & Transfer Behind Approval Records
Require written approval on static/interactive prototypes before building in Webflow, and never transfer Webflow project ownership until the final invoice is paid via payment link.
Enforce Work-Pause Clauses for Overdue Invoices
Pause all Webflow development immediately if a milestone invoice exceeds the payment terms, protecting your billable schedule from scope drift.
