Statement of Work

Ref: 2026-001 • Standard Business Template

Scope of Work

The Pinterest Ads Manager agrees to perform Pinterest advertising services including business manager setup, tag implementation, audience and keyword research, ad creative production, campaign optimization, and analytics reporting. Specific asset counts and campaign goals are detailed in the accompanying project brief within MicroFreelanceHub. Any tasks outside this defined scope require a separate agreement and additional fee payment.

Upfront Payment

All service fees for campaign setup and management must be paid in full prior to the commencement of any work, including account audits, asset creation, or technical integration. Payments are collected securely via the MicroFreelanceHub payment link integrated into this agreement. Ad spend budget is separate and billed directly to the client by Pinterest.

Client Review

The client will receive visual ad creatives (vertical static pins, video pins, or carousel pins) and copy drafts via MicroFreelanceHub for review. The client is responsible for verifying that all product claims, pricing, and destination URLs comply with their business requirements and applicable advertising laws prior to campaign launch.

Approval Deadlines

The client agrees to review and provide written feedback or approval on submitted ad assets within five (5) business days of receipt. If the client fails to provide feedback or explicit rejection within this 5-day window, the submitted deliverables will be deemed automatically approved, allowing the Ads Manager to proceed with campaign configuration and scheduling.

Delivery Conditions

Work delivery is contingent upon full receipt of upfront service fees, administrative access to the client's Pinterest Business Manager, access to web tag assets, and completed client intake documentation. Delays in client provision of system access or approvals will extend campaign launch dates accordingly without fault to the Ads Manager.

Refund Limits

Upfront payment fees compensate the Ads Manager for scheduled labor, proprietary strategic planning, keyword matrix development, and creative production. Once strategy execution or asset buildout has commenced, upfront fees are non-refundable. Service fees are earned upon receipt and initiation of services.

Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement with seven (7) days written notice via MicroFreelanceHub. Upon termination notice, any ongoing campaign setups will be paused. Unearned prepaid management fees for future unstarted service months will be returned, while all completed work and active management cycles remain fully non-refundable.

Ad Spend vs. Management Fee Confusion

Clients often mistake management fees for inclusive ad spend, leading to billing disputes or unauthorized credit card chargebacks when Pinterest charges their account separately.

Creative Approval Bottlenecks

Clients delaying approval on vertical pin graphics and ad copy while expecting extended contract management windows without paying additional retainer fees.

Technical Setup Access Delays

Third-party website access or developer delays on the client side stalling Pinterest Tag event verification while freelancer time remains uncompensated.

What is a Pinterest Ads Manager Upfront Payment Contract?

A Pinterest Ads Manager Upfront Payment Contract secures 100% of management fees before campaign setup or creative work begins. It clearly separates service fees from ad spend, establishes strict client approval timelines for pin assets, protects against scope creep, and creates an audit trail that prevents payment chargebacks and delays.

Built from real freelance projects

This template is based on real-world scenarios across freelance projects where unclear scope, missing payment terms, and revision creep led to lost revenue. It helps clarify your time, define expectations, and make payment steps easier to manage.

Why Pinterest Ads Managers need a clear upfront payment contract

Managing Pinterest Ads requires intensive initial labor: setting up Pinterest Tag tracking, conducting keyword research, designing vertical pin creatives, writing keyword-rich descriptions, and building ad campaigns. Without an upfront payment contract, freelancers risk spending 15–20 hours configuring accounts and designing assets only to have the client delay launching campaigns, withhold final payment, or dispute invoice charges. In Pinterest ad management, campaign momentum relies heavily on timely client approvals for creative and landing page compliance. An upfront payment contract locks in your fee before strategy execution begins, ties work milestones directly to verified client approvals, and protects your agency or freelance business against scope creep, delayed feedback, and fraudulent payment chargebacks. MicroFreelanceHub streamlines this process by linking your signed contract directly to an upfront payment collection link and digital sign-off record, keeping your revenue safe and predictable.

Real-world scenario

A Pinterest Ads Manager onboarded an e-commerce brand for a $2,500 setup and initial management service. The manager spent two weeks auditing the catalog, designing 15 custom pin ads, and configuring Pinterest Tag conversion events. When the manager requested payment before setting campaigns live, the client went silent, claimed sales were slow, and refused to pay while keeping the custom graphic assets. Because the manager used MicroFreelanceHub’s Upfront Payment Contract Template, payment was collected upfront alongside the signed agreement and clear approval deadlines. When the client later attempted a credit card chargeback alleging non-delivery, the manager presented MicroFreelanceHub’s timestamped approval trail, contract terms, and payment confirmation link. The bank ruled immediately in the manager's favor, securing the $2,500 retainer while eliminating scope creep.

Best practices for Pinterest Ads Managers

Attach Client Billing Directly to Pinterest

Never route client ad spend through your personal or business accounts. Mandate that clients add their own credit card directly inside Pinterest Ads Billing Settings.

Require Digital Sign-Off Before Campaign Launch

Use MicroFreelanceHub to capture formal written or digital approvals for all visual pin assets and targeting parameters before flipping campaigns to 'Active'.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does an upfront payment contract protect me if the client delays pin approvals?

The contract includes an auto-approval clause establishing a 5-day review limit. If the client fails to provide feedback within this window, assets are marked approved, allowing campaign setup to proceed without stalling your billing cycle.

What happens if a client requests a refund after I set up their Pinterest Tag?

Because upfront management fees cover initial strategy, technical tag setup, and pin creation, the agreement states that fees are non-refundable once account work has commenced.
