Project Milestones

This Agreement structures the GoHighLevel (GHL) automation project into distinct, sequential milestones. Progressing from one milestone to the next requires written sign-off from the Client and the complete settlement of the corresponding payment link. The Consultant retains all administrative rights and snapshot assets until final project settlement.

Deliverables by Phase

Work is organized into three mandatory phases:

  • Phase 1: Subaccount Setup & Architecture – Provisioning subaccount, mapping custom fields/values, pipeline stage definitions, and initial integration scoping.
  • Phase 2: Workflow & Funnel Configuration – Construction of trigger links, multi-channel nurture sequences (SMS/Email), webhooks, forms, and booking calendars within a staging environment.
  • Phase 3: Testing, Go-Live & Transfer – Functional end-to-end testing, live domain mapping, staff user permission setup, and master snapshot link delivery.

Approval Criteria

Milestone approval requires functional validation against the agreed scope document. Upon completion of a phase, the Consultant will provide a staging preview or detailed walkthrough recording. The Client has five (5) business days to review and provide a consolidated list of functional revisions. Minor cosmetic or text tweaks do not constitute grounds for withholding milestone approval if technical logic functions as specified.

Payment Schedule

Payments are tied directly to milestone achievements and must be executed via the generated payment links:

  • Deposit Milestone: 30% due prior to project kickoff and subaccount architecture mapping.
  • Build Milestone: 40% due upon functional staging demo of Phase 2 workflows and funnels.
  • Final Launch Milestone: 30% due prior to live domain connection, client admin handoff, and snapshot release.

Late Payment

If a milestone payment link remains unpaid for more than three (3) business days following milestone sign-off or silent approval expiration, all active builds, workflow testing, and technical support will be immediately suspended. A late fee of 1.5% per month (or the maximum allowable by law) will apply to overdue balances.

Change Requests

Any request for additional GHL workflows, third-party app integrations (e.g., Zapier/Make connections outside initial scope), custom CSS for funnels, or altered pipeline logic will be categorized as a Change Request. Change Requests require a separate written estimate and payment link approval before the requested work is integrated into the build schedule.

Final Delivery

Final delivery is defined as the successful transfer of subaccount administrative access, live domain propagation, and provision of the final Snapshot link. Final delivery is strictly contingent upon 100% settlement of all project invoices and milestone payment links. The Consultant retains full ownership of proprietary templates and custom workflow snapshots until account settlement is complete.

Client-ready workflow

Turn this into a client-ready agreement and deposit link.

Scope Creep via Native GHL Tool Expansion

Clients continuously request additional workflows, LC Phone numbers, AI bot training, or custom funnel CSS mid-build without acknowledging the added technical debt or labor.

Third-Party & Account Credential Stalls

Projects stall waiting for client Stripe validation, custom domain DNS propagation, or A2P 10DLC registration, leaving the consultant unpaid despite fully completed automation logic.

Endless Strategy Tweaks Masked as Bug Fixes

Clients alter their underlying sales process during workflow testing, treating core strategy changes as technical bugs and withholding phase approval until non-scoped updates are made.

What is a GoHighLevel Automation Consultant Milestone Payment Agreement?

A GoHighLevel Automation Milestone Payment Agreement is a structured contract that divides GHL implementation projects into paid phases. It mandates that clients approve deliverables and clear payment links for completed workflows and funnels before work begins on subsequent stages or final subaccount administrative access and snapshots are transferred.

Built from real freelance projects

This template is based on real-world scenarios across freelance projects where unclear scope, missing payment terms, and revision creep led to lost revenue. It helps clarify your time, define expectations, and make payment steps easier to manage.

Why GoHighLevel Automation Consultants need a clear milestone payment agreement

GoHighLevel implementations involve complex technical configurations, including custom fields, trigger links, multi-step workflows, pipeline stages, and third-party integrations like Twilio, LC LeadConnector, and Stripe. When consultants charge flat fees paid only at project completion, clients frequently stall on domain verification, content uploads, or API key handovers, withholding final payment while benefiting from configured logic. Milestone payment structures eliminate this cash flow vulnerability by breaking GHL projects into discrete, billable phases—such as Architecture Setup, Core Workflow Build, and Deployment. Each phase requires written client sign-off and payment clearance before work on subsequent stages begins. MicroFreelanceHub empowers GHL specialists to combine upfront deposits, documented milestone sign-offs, and automated payment links into a unified workflow. This ensures you maintain cash flow, clarify your build time, and get paid promptly for completed work, regardless of downstream client delays or shifting business priorities.

Real-world scenario

A GHL consultant agrees to build a $6,000 custom subaccount for a real estate client, covering automated pipeline triggers, SMS drip sequences, and an appointment booking funnel. The consultant completes the workflow configurations in two weeks. However, the client takes six weeks to complete A2P 10DLC registration and submit marketing copy. Because the initial contract specified 50% upfront and 50% upon final go-live, the consultant is forced to wait over a month for the remaining $3,000, despite having finished 90% of technical tasks. Under a MicroFreelanceHub milestone agreement, the project is structured into three paid phases: Setup Deposit ($2,000), Workflow Build ($2,000 upon staging demo approval), and Launch/Snapshot Release ($2,000). The consultant secures $4,000 before client delays occur, fully protecting their cash flow, time, and labor while awaiting third-party credentials.

🛡️ What this milestone payment agreement covers:

  • Subaccount Architecture & Custom Value Schema Design
  • Multi-Channel Lead Nurture & Appointment Booking Workflows
  • Funnel Template Setup, Form Mapping, & Survey Routing
  • Third-Party API Webhooks & Payment Gateway Integrations
  • Staging Subaccount Demo, User Access Handoff, & Snapshot Release

Best practices for GoHighLevel Automation Consultants

Withhold Master Snapshot Links Until Final Clearance

Demonstrate automations within a staging subaccount and retain master snapshot links until the final payment link clears completely.

Define Strict Testing & Revision Scope

Limit revision rounds to functional bug fixes based on agreed specification documents rather than open-ended operational strategy changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if a client stalls on providing DNS or Twilio credentials?

The agreement includes a credential dependency clause. If client-side access delays exceed five business days, the milestone for completed workflow logic is billed immediately, and downstream launch milestones are rescheduled.

Can I halt technical support if a milestone payment link is overdue?

Yes. The contract contains an automatic Stop-Work provision that permits the consultant to pause all workflow builds, subaccount maintenance, and client support until the outstanding milestone payment link clears.
