Statement of Work
Ref: 2026-001 • Standard Business Template
Scope of Work
Developer agrees to convert the finalized, client-approved Figma file into a fully responsive Webflow website. Scope includes responsive page builds, Webflow CMS architecture, standard page transitions, basic SEO configuration, and domain routing as detailed in the project estimate. Any features, third-party integrations, advanced custom JavaScript interactions, or assets not present in the designated Figma file are explicitly excluded from this build scope.
Upfront Payment
Full payment or designated deposit as specified in the proposal is due prior to project kickoff, timeline scheduling, or initial Webflow workspace setup. Payment shall be made via MicroFreelanceHub integrated payment link. Work will not commence, and project timeline guarantees are invalid, until funds have cleared in full. All upfront payments secure development resource allocation and are non-refundable once development has initiated.
Client Review
Upon completion of the build, Developer will provide a private Webflow staging link (.webflow.io) for Client review. Client is entitled to one (1) round of consolidation feedback to identify discrepancies between the staging build and the approved Figma design file. Client feedback must be delivered in a single written document detailing specific visual or functional bug fixes.
Approval Deadlines
Client must provide written sign-off or consolidated feedback within five (5) business days of receiving the Webflow staging link. If Client fails to provide feedback or approval within this five-day window, the project shall be deemed fully accepted, approved, and complete by Client, and Developer may conclude the contract engagement.
Delivery Conditions
Final project delivery—defined as Webflow project transfer to Client's account, custom domain publishing, or handover of site admin permissions—is strictly conditional on 100% settlement of all invoice balances, change orders, and upfront fee obligations. Developer retains sole ownership of all Webflow assets, custom code snippets, and site builds until all payments clear.
Refund Limits
Upfront payments cover scheduled developer availability and preliminary workspace engineering. If Client cancels prior to development commencement, upfront payments minus a 20% administrative fee will be refunded. Once Webflow initialization or Figma breakdown begins, upfront payments are 100% non-refundable under all circumstances.
Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with written notice if the other party breaches material terms. If Client terminates contract post-kickoff, Developer retains all upfront fees collected. If Developer terminates due to Client inaction exceeding fourteen (14) consecutive business days, all collected funds are forfeited to Developer as liquidated damages for reserved build capacity.
Mid-Build Figma Alterations
Clients modifying Figma layers or auto-layouts during active Webflow construction, creating duplicate work and structural build brokenness.
Staging Site Unauthorised Exposure
Clients using preview links or exporting custom code/CSS assets without settling balances or providing formal sign-offs.
CMS & Domain Bottleneck Delays
Clients stalling on providing DNS access, Third-party API keys, or CMS content while holding final sign-off hostage.
What is a Figma to Webflow Developer Upfront Payment Contract?
A Figma to Webflow Upfront Payment Contract protects developers by securing 100% payment or non-refundable deposits before dev work starts. It locks design files, enforces strict review deadlines, ties site transfer to final settlement, and guards against scope creep or client ghosting during the build phase.
Built from real freelance projects
This template is based on real-world scenarios across freelance projects where unclear scope, missing payment terms, and revision creep led to lost revenue. It helps clarify your time, define expectations, and make payment steps easier to manage.
Why Figma to Webflow Developers need a clear upfront payment contract
Converting Figma designs into functional, high-performing Webflow websites requires dedicated technical architecture, custom interaction builds, and CMS structure configuration. When clients delay payments or demand mid-build design changes, developers bear the financial risk of wasted engineering hours. An upfront payment contract shifts this dynamic by establishing complete financial security before development begins. By requiring full payment or substantial non-refundable deposits upfront via integrated payment links, developers clarify their calendar and lock in revenue. Furthermore, requiring explicit approval of the Figma design file prior to Webflow implementation prevents scope creep and uncompensated revisions. This contract structure creates operational clarity, ensures client accountability, and guarantees that developers are fully compensated for their technical execution, asset optimization, and responsive design work without chasing invoices after the project launches or staging links are shared.
Real-world scenario
A freelance developer accepted a project to convert a complex 10-page Figma file into a Webflow website. Without an upfront payment contract, the developer built the site over three weeks and sent the staging link for review. The client immediately pointed out minor desktop discrepancies, demanded additional mobile animations not in the original Figma file, and withheld the final $4,000 balance while using the staging site for client presentations. Under MicroFreelanceHub's Upfront Payment Contract framework, the entire $4,000 payment was collected before Webflow build initialization, and the Figma file was formally approved in writing. When the client requested new animations, the developer pointed to the contract's design-lock clause and issued a separate change order. Because funds were already secured and delivery conditions specified that project transfer occurred only after approval, the developer maintained complete leverage, avoided unpaid revision traps, and got paid on time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if a client alters the Figma design after I begin the Webflow build?
The contract includes a Design Freeze clause. Any modifications made to the Figma file post-payment require a formal Scope Change Request and additional payment link before updates are executed in Webflow.
How does an upfront contract prevent client chargebacks?
The agreement explicitly ties upfront payments to design approval records and dev slot allocation, rendering payments non-refundable once technical development begins and providing written audit trails.
